Guest Policies & Booking Information

We want your stay at The Hokulani at Papakea to be relaxing, comfortable, and easy from the moment you book. Please review the following important policies before confirming your reservation. These guidelines help us care for our Maui home, respect our neighbors and resort community, and ensure a wonderful experience for all of our guests.

CHECK-IN & CHECKOUT

Check-in begins at 4:00 PM and checkout is by 10:00 AM. Early check-in or late checkout may be available with prior approval but cannot be guaranteed. Please plan your travel accordingly so our cleaning team has adequate time to prepare the condo between guests.

OCCUPANCY & MINIMUM AGE

The condo accommodates a maximum of 6 overnight guests. The primary guest making the reservation must be at least 25 years old, must be present for the duration of the stay, and is responsible for all members of their party and visitors to the property.

Only registered guests may stay overnight in the condo. Please contact us in advance if there are any changes to the number of guests on your reservation.

PETS & SERVICE ANIMALS

Pets are not permitted in the condo. Service animals are welcome as required by applicable law.

If you will be traveling with a service animal, please let us know in advance so we can help ensure a smooth arrival and stay. Guests remain responsible for their service animal’s behavior and for any damage caused by the animal, as permitted by law.

NO SMOKING OR VAPING

Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside the condo or on the private lanai. Please use only designated smoking areas permitted by Papakea Resort.

Guests may be responsible for additional cleaning, deodorizing, remediation, or damage costs resulting from a violation of this policy.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations made 14 or more days before check-in receive a 100% refund of refundable amounts paid.

Cancellations made 7–13 days before check-in receive a 50% refund of refundable amounts paid.

Cancellations made less than 7 days before check-in are nonrefundable.

We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to help protect your vacation investment in the event of unexpected illness, travel disruption, weather, or other unforeseen circumstances.

DAMAGE PROTECTION

A $79 nonrefundable Damage Protection Fee applies to each reservation. We obtain WaivoNow damage protection with a waiver limit of up to $5,000 for the reservation, subject to Waivo’s applicable terms, conditions, limitations, exclusions, and reimbursement requirements.

Guests do not need to purchase or register for Waivo separately. Please report any damage or accidental breakage promptly. Guests remain responsible for damage, losses, excessive cleaning, or other charges that are not covered or reimbursed through the damage-protection program.

For stays longer than 10 nights, an additional damage-protection charge may apply.

PAYMENT POLICY

A 50% deposit is required to secure your reservation. The remaining balance is due 3 days before check-in.

Reservations made within 3 days of arrival require payment in full at the time of booking. Your reservation is confirmed once the required payment has been received and the booking has been accepted and confirmed.

CLEANING FEE

A $200 cleaning fee applies to each reservation and covers normal vacation-rental turnover cleaning.

We simply ask that guests treat the condo with care and leave it in reasonably tidy condition. Additional cleaning charges may apply if the condo requires cleaning substantially beyond a normal turnover.

PARTIES, EVENTS & QUIET ENJOYMENT

Parties, events, and disruptive gatherings are not permitted.

Papakea is a peaceful resort community shared by vacationing guests and residents. Please be considerate of our neighbors, observe resort quiet hours, and keep noise at a respectful level, particularly during the evening and early morning.

RESORT RULES

Guests are expected to follow all applicable Papakea Resort rules, including those relating to parking, pools and spas, recreational facilities, BBQ areas, common areas, noise, and other resort amenities.

The primary guest is responsible for ensuring that everyone in their party follows resort rules throughout the stay.

PARKING

On-site parking is available at Papakea Resort. Guests should register their vehicle as required at check-in and display any required parking permit.

Please follow all posted parking regulations and instructions provided by the resort during your stay.

CARE OF THE CONDO

Please treat The Hokulani at Papakea as you would your own home. Guests are responsible for damage to the condo, furnishings, appliances, fixtures, linens, and other contents caused by members of their party or visitors beyond ordinary wear and tear.

Please notify us promptly if something is accidentally damaged or if you discover a maintenance issue. Early notification gives us the best opportunity to help.

AMENITIES, UTILITIES & MAINTENANCE

We make every reasonable effort to keep the condo, appliances, utilities, internet, air conditioning, and other amenities in good working condition.

Occasionally, resort amenities, utilities, elevators, internet service, appliances, or building systems may experience interruptions, maintenance, or temporary closures outside our control. Please notify us promptly of any problem so we can make reasonable efforts to assist.

RESORT AMENITIES

Papakea Resort amenities and common areas are managed by the resort and may occasionally be affected by maintenance, repairs, weather, operating changes, or temporary closures.

While we cannot guarantee the uninterrupted availability of every resort amenity, we will gladly share any known information that may affect your stay.

BEACH & OCEAN SAFETY

Maui’s beaches and ocean are beautiful, but conditions can change quickly. Please use good judgment, observe posted warnings and lifeguard instructions, and check current ocean and weather conditions before entering the water.

Children should be appropriately supervised at all times. Beach equipment provided with the condo is used at the guest’s discretion and responsibility.

PERSONAL BELONGINGS

Please secure your personal belongings during your stay and double-check the condo before departure.

The owner is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property except to the extent responsibility cannot legally be excluded.

TRAVEL DISRUPTIONS & UNFORESEEN EVENTS

Weather, flight disruptions, road closures, utility interruptions, natural events, government actions, and other circumstances outside the owner’s reasonable control can occasionally affect travel to Maui.

These circumstances do not automatically qualify for refunds outside our stated cancellation policy unless otherwise required by law. Travel insurance is strongly recommended.

VIOLATION OF POLICIES

Material violations of these policies, Papakea Resort rules, occupancy restrictions, or applicable law may result in termination of the stay when permitted by law.

Guests remain responsible for properly assessed damages, additional cleaning, or other charges arising from their stay.
